How to Write a Script for Your Video - With and Without AI

For many business owners, the hardest part of an About video isn’t the camera.

It’s the words.

Not because they don’t know their business,
but because they suddenly feel pressure to say everything at once.

Mission.
Experience.
Values.
Services.
Credibility.

That’s how About videos turn into long, unfocused monologues that feel stiff on camera.

The goal of an About video isn’t to say everything.
It’s to say the right things clearly.

A good place to start is simple.

Open a document.
Set a timer for ten or fifteen minutes.
And write everything you want to say.

Don’t edit yet.
Don’t worry about structure.
Don’t worry about length.

Just get it out of your head and onto the page.

This first pass is not a script.
It’s a brain dump.

Once everything is written, step away for a bit.
Then come back and start cutting.

Go line by line and ask one question:

“Does this actually help someone understand us better?”

Then read the result out loud again.

If it doesn’t sound like you, don’t use it.

Go back.
Adjust the prompt.
Refine the language.
